WHAT IS NATTOKINASE?
- Nattokinase is the filamentous substance (mucus) found in Natto, a traditional Japanese dish made from fermented soybeans by the beneficial bacteria Bacillus natto, and which has been eaten by the Japanese for approximately 1,200 years.
- It is an enzyme capable of breaking down fibrin protein (a cause of blood clots) that was recognized in 1980, researched by Dr. Oshima of Hokkaido Imperial University.
